Position Overview
- The Cloud Lead will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable cloud and container-based infrastructure solutions across on-premise and public cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure). The role requires deep expertise in Kubernetes, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud-native technologies to drive modernization, automation, and reliability across enterprise systems. The Cloud Lead will work closely with cross-functional teams to define cloud strategy, ensure high availability, strengthen security posture, and optimize operational efficiency through automation and observability.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and manage secure, scalable, and high-performing Kubernetes and cloud-based environments across hybrid or multi-cloud platforms
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and automate deployment, scaling, and management workflows with Python and Shell scripting
- Lead and guide DevOps initiatives—including CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices, and SRE-focused reliability engineering—to ensure seamless integration and delivery
- Establish observability frameworks using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Fluentbit, and related tools to enhance monitoring, logging, and incident response capabilities
- Collaborate with development and architecture teams to design and support event-driven, microservices-based applications using Kafka, API Gateways (Kong), and gRPC/REST APIs
- Drive security and compliance best practices across containerized and cloud-native environments, ensuring adherence to organizational and industry standards
Required Skills
- 10+ Years of experience in Linux/Unix, AWS/GCP/Azure Cloud, DevOps, and Container ecosystems
- 5+ Years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes (control plane, data plane, Docker) – deploying, managing, and scaling both on-prem and in cloud
- Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and automation with Python
- Experience with Istio/Consul and Helm charts
- Hands-on experience in setting up monitoring and observability for Kubernetes (Prometheus, ELK, Fluentbit, Grafana, etc.)
- Strong understanding of networking, storage, and security across on-prem and cloud environments
- Experience with API Gateways (Kong preferred), Kafka, and event-driven microservices architecture
- Strong scripting experience (Python, Shell, etc.)
- Knowledge of RESTful and gRPC APIs
- Exposure to GitOps, CI/CD, and SRE practices
Good to Have Skills
- Experience in building distributed, multi-region Kubernetes clusters.
- Hands-on experience with Tanzu and VMware Virtualization.
- Understanding of container security (image, pod, network).
- Solid knowledge of networking/firewall and storage within Kubernetes environments
- Experience troubleshooting complex production systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
